The Oscian Death Marches, also referred to as the Christmas Massacres, were a series of forced deportations and death marches that forced Oscians and other Eastern Bloc prisoners of war from and around the River Valley, to areas along the Volscian-Elezentau border where they were stranded without access to food, water, or adequate shelter. The deportations were orchestrated and carried out by the Alerian Provincial Armed Forces following the capture of Modesta, Oscia's capital, which trapped Eastern Bloc forces for the winter. Most of the relocated peoples died of exposure, disease, and starvation due to the desolate conditions in the border region.
