A Combined Operations Area (COpA) is a Freethinker military designation for a unified command in a geographic local, which places all armed service formations assigned to an area under one command structure, with a senior overall commander drawn from one present service and deputy land, sea, air and where appropriate orbital commanding officers assigned from the respective services. When personnel are replaced for these roles, it is common for an officer from another service to take position.

COpA's are intended to rationalise and integrate operations within the FRAF. They can be considered an equivelant of other nations' unified combatant commands, at least in the geographic sense.
