.mz is the top-level domain of the Miersan Federation, administered by the West Miersan Ministry of Communications and sponsored by TeleMiers.

History

.mz went into operation on 6 April, 1991. While it was decided that national governmental institutions and political parties would be allowed to register directly under the .mz domain, commercial and academic institutions were to register under second level domains.

Since the 1990s, internet usage has grown, and by 2014, .mz had reached over one million registered domains.

Second level domains

The Ministry of Communications allows registration via the following second-level domains.

Domain Purpose
.edu.mz West Miersan academic institutions
.ko.mz West Miersan commercial entities
.rz.mz Government websites (i.e. voivodeships and lower)
.org.mz West Miersan-based organisations
