The 223rd Fighter-Interceptor Squadron is part of the 11th Aerospace Defense Wing garrisoned at Sandy Orbital Defense Base. The squadron is tasked with aerial interception in protection of the HALOS guns at the base. The squadron operates 25 F-15CX aircraft.
