Timeline of Riscelnia

This is the official timeline of Riscelnia, with all events that had an effect on the country. Years will be listed in I.S to avoid confusion.

The list is still undergoing reviews and new additions, so until further notice, this article will be classed as WIP.

7th century

Year	Date	Event
615		The Riscelnian Calendar (RC) is designed by Axeli Hammarverk. This year also becomes the year 0 for the 1st Era in the Riscelnian Era Calendar (RCE1).

11th century

Year	Date	Event
1000		The royalty-in-exile from Zanaro arrives at what is today Südhamn, and set up a temporary shelter. This year also marks the start of the second era of the RCE.
1002		The first official Zanarite settlement is founded. Colonists begin attempts to introduce the Zanarite culture and their religion, Soriven.
1006		The First Republic of Riscelnia-Zanaro is declared this year, becoming the first ever official nation on Riscelnian soil.

16th century

Year	Date	Event
1500		The Zanaro exiles depart from Riscelnia to reclaim their homeland with a massive army. As a large portion of the military disappears with the Zanarites, smaller raids on frontier settlements commence.
1507	June 4	The raids on frontier settlements reach a breaking point, and this erupts into the (First) Riscelnian Revolt in June of 1507.
1510	July 17	After three years of fighting, the remaining Zanarite forces pull out of Riscelnia.
1510	July 18	The Second Republic of Riscelnia-Zanaro is founded.
1521	June 4	The Zavard Revolt takes place, overthrowing the Republic of Riscelnia-Zanaro. In its place comes the First Republic of Riscelnia.
1567		A re-colonization by Zanaro commences just south of the country.

17th century

Year	Date	Event
1639	October 19	The First Republic of Riscelnia is overthrown in the Zavard Revolution of 1639, and in its place comes the Independent Republic of Riscelnia.
1639	November 8	Tensions spark up between the IR and the Zanaro colony, and military presence on the border grows.
1648	May 23	Without officially declaring war, the IR marches forces across the border into the colony, seizing most of it in a single day.
1648	September	The last Zanarite forces surrender, and the colony is annexed into the IR.
1685	March 2	After increasing taxes on noblemen, they assemble an army of their own outside Südhamn and march on Zavard, confronting the IR forces at the Battle of Jazine, not far from Zavard. The IR wins, but the noblemen are given more privileges.

18th century

Year	Date	Event
1758	December 18	The December Revolts of 1758 start.
1759	February 27	After three months of revolts, the Intermediate Republic of Riscelnia collapses and is replaced with the Federal Republic of Riscelnia.

20th century

Year	Date	Event
1922	May 19	A breakdown in negotiations between the President and the Council over various policies leads to the president abolishing the Council entirely.
1922	May 23	The Department of Justice breaks down on order of the Highest Court.
1922	May 26	After a week of turmoil, Riscelnia's government collapses entirely, starting what would become the Inter-governmental period.
1923	October 22	The first draft of a new constitution is submitted to the parliament. It is rejected three days later.
1923	November 11	The Constitution of the 4th Republic of Riscelnia is approved by Republiksförsamlingen, and adopted officially later the same day.
1923	November 16	The 4th Republic of Riscelnia is officially declared.

21st century

2015	December 14	The 20th President of Riscelnia, Fredrik Almberg of the Centre-Left Party, takes office.
2016	January 5	The 13th Prime Minister of Riscelnia, Simon Norén of the Social Democratic Party, takes office.
