The Balonic Civil War was a civil war fought in the United States of Balion from 1871 to 1875, between the northern and the southern states of the country. The Civil War began primarily as a result of the long-standing controversy over the enslavement of non-whites and foreigners. War broke out in April 1871 when government forces attacked the Vionna-Frankenlischian Fort Edward in West Oakliffe following mounting tensions. The Civil War itself began in a similar manner when secessionist forces stormed the federal Fort Sommerville in South Calhoun not long after the inauguration of Abraham Larkinge as the President of Balion.

The war was fought primarily between two sides. The Union in the North who remained loyal to the prewar government who proclaimed support for the Constitution. They faced the Confederate States in the South who advocated for secession and states rights, particularly the right to uphold slavery. Acting as a third combatant was the United Kingdom of Vionna-Frankenlisch who, following mounting tensions, had gone to war with the USB in April of 1871.
