Bösmenien is a Besmenian animated political satire sketch series, that was broadcast on VEGA from 1987 to 1992. The show is based of the comic strip of the same name by Matthias Konziolek. Bösmenien was best known for his caricatures of politicians and celebrities, commented on diffent and current events in short sketches.
The general main character of the show was then Prime Minister Martin Beiter up to the 3rd season. Due to the Assassination of Martin Beiter and the election of Kurt Stöger as his successor, Stöger was the general main character in the 4th season. As a result, however, the success of the show was somewhat reduced, as Kurt Stöger gave significantly less potential for possible parodies.
