The Bandkanon (Commonly abbreviated Bkan or Backhand) is a self-propelled 155mm howitzer in use in various members of OSEN. The Skan-1 held the record for the worlds highest rate of fire at 14 rounds in 45 seconds before the record was broken in 2008 by the Skan 2, which can fire 18 rounds in 45 seconds, or 5 rounds in 6.

Each individual high-explosive shell of the bkan weights 47 kilograms and has a maximum range of 28 kilometers. With specialized rounds, the bkan has a range of up to 36 kilometers.

Design and development

Originally drafted as a long range howitzer system, the Skan-1 was proposed to replace a number of howitzers already in service ranging from 90 to 180mm. With a longer effective range than all but the most powerful of artillery systems, the Skan 1 was to also deliver Dnieguan nuclear artillery. Weapon Systems in Pardes
