The Barons of the Navy (徹航侯, r′êt-gāng-gō) compose the committee responsible for the leadership of the Themiclesian Navy. These officers are customarily addressed as, but not necessarily are, barons in the sense of being peers—the President-Baron, the Vice-President-Baron, and two to six Puisne Barons. The barons are responsible for distinct policy areas of the navy, though advice to the Secretary of State for Defence are given as a group. Barons not charged to a permanent policy area are called Lay Barons and work under ad hoc government instructions. The current President-Baroness is Admiral Michele Mak.
