The First Empire of Hoterallia was a historical empire and great power that existed from the First Shiro Restoration in 1578 until the fall and outbreak of the Second Reunification War in 1939. It encompassed the same territories that the nation still holds today.
After the First Unification War, Hoterallia reestablished its former royal family as the head of state, the Shiro dynasty held absolute powers until 1824 when the first constitution was written, when the early National Diet was established, they held power almost equal to the Emperor. The empire was an economic powerhouse in the world, dominating trades and major diplomacy players in Olivacia.
Under the last few years of Emperor Kokun, the Emperor swiftly gained large power and the National Diet slowly lost its grip and control over the constitution and the nation. The Empire economic development slowed down at the start of the 20th Century, leading to some cracks in the government and some unstable ideological thinkers. In 1939, the People's Revolutionary Council of Hoterallia launched an uprising against the Imperial Government, which fled east and established a stronghold in Gerkoller and Eastern Hoterallia. In 1950, Emperor Norihi stepped down as Emperor to runs the Imperial Force as a governor, ending the 400-year-old Empire.
