The NVX-3 is a main battle tank developed in Quenmin. The NVX-3 was developed as a replacement to Quenmin's aging fleet of NVX-2s, which was already considered obsolete by 2000. Notable features include the use of a powerful multifuel turbine engine, the adoption of sophisticated composite armor, and separate ammunition storage in a blow-out compartment for crew safety. Weighing nearly 68 short tons (almost 62 metric tons), it is one of the heaviest main battle tanks in service. Armed with the 120mm Royal Ordnance made in the UK, it was replaced by the 120mm M72 Smoothbore derived from the Rheinmetall 120mm smoothbore gun, giving it added firepower.

Three main versions of the NVX-3 have been deployed, the NVX-3, NVX-3A, and NVX-3B, incorporating improved armament, protection, and electronics. These improvements and other upgrades to in-service tanks have allowed this long-serving vehicle to remain in front-line service. In addition, development of the improved NVX-3C version was first publicly disclosed in 2009. Extensive improvements have been implemented to the latest NVX-3B SEP17 version.

The NVX-3 served during the Imperial Crisis, where it proved itself caapble against Lorican tanks, which are mostly Bronirover M99s as well as Archambault Type 10s.
