The 1944 Central Shaneville Presidential election was held on the 11 November 1944.

1943 saw Parliament pass "The New District Act" giving the CSP it's first major shakeup ahead of the 1944 election - the first reform was the electoral districts bringing the number of seats from 180 to 264 - the second was the parties themselves with the Liberal party surviving the act whole whilst the Conservatives and Progressives merged and the NWA stated they will not be part of this new parliament from the 1944 election onwards.

This lead to the arrival of 2 new parties: the first was the "New Democratic Party" which was formed from the NWA's left-leaning MPs, the second was the Social Credit Workers' party which was a populist party.

The final reform of the act were election dates as they were changed from October to November.

Due to these reforms, George Hargrave didn't run for a chance at a record third term.
