The Gotos Islands sit in a subtropical region, with seasonal tropical storms and the occasionall hurricane. The islands sit on a tectonic plate on the Northern part of Iskvha Iskjand, the largest island. Because of this tectonic plate, tsunami risk is high for the islands, along with the rest of Kakland and surrounding areas.

The islands were first inhabited by the Proto-Kaks (Thrismari Germanics) around 50,000 BCE, a few thousand years after the settlement of the Maricoenian-Kakish Region in 55,000. Over the millennia, civilization grew and flourished. But the Gotos Island people were far behind to their counterparts in mainland Kakland. The Gotosians made contact with merchants from the Kysxk Kingdom in 1087 CE, and with it came many things, good and bad. The Kysxk and other kingdoms/empires made trading ports on the Gotos Islands, and established the Kingdom of the Gotos People, or more commonly known as the Gotosian Kingdom, in 1128 CE. Christianity was introduced in the same year.

By the late 1300s, the Gotosian Kingdom grew in power to that of a small kingdom, providing many trades that the rest of mainland Kakland didn't have, such as a large supply of copper and salt. But because of this, the kingdom was dependent on others for other trades that the island didn't have naturally. Though this didn't stop Gotosians from wanting to be truly independent from others.

The islands would be under Kysxkian rule until 1598, when the Khaygavar Empire went to war with the Kysxk Kingdom for land gain and naval control over the Marco Gulf. Khaygic rule would last from 1598-1625, before being invaded again be the Tjo-Kios Empire. Later, in 1658, Qwerteinheimer would land in what is now called Gotos City, and declare it to be the main port city of Kakland. He would name it the Tejhmä Port, after the tribal leader who first made formal relations with Kysxkian merchants centuries ago. The City would later in 1897 be named after the islands, but the historic landing of Qwerteinheimer's is kept as a National Historic Area of Kakland to keep a reminder of the original name of the city.

From 1652-1716, the Gotos Islands would be under continuous rule of the Qwerteinheimer family line. The last ruler would be Qwerteinheimer the Fifth. Since 1695, tensions between the Kakish Kingdom and the Empire of Maricoen were at an extreme low. This was caused by a few skirmishes between Kakish navy ships and Maricoen merchants in Gotosian waters.
From 1652-1716, the Gotos Islands would be under continuous rule of the Qwerteinheimer family line. The last ruler would be Qwerteinheimer the Fifth.

Over the years, from 1695-1715, Maricoen and the Kakish Kingdoms had trade wars, tariffs, and small battles along land borders and at sea. In 1715, the Maricoenian Empire went to war with the Khaygavar Kingdom, quickly defeating them in less than a year. This started the Great Kakish War (GKW). Next, within a few months, Maricoen conquered many small kingdoms north and south of the Kysxk Kingdom. After that, in the beginning of 1716, the Maricoenian Empire defeated the Tjo-Kio Empire, leaving the Kysxk Kingdom and the Gotos Islands last.

The Kysxk Empire, being the strongest of the Kaks, was defeated last, with the Gotos Islands being conquered once more, for a final time.

Once the war was over, Kakland was created as the Kaklandia Regionoso se Maricoenkla (Common: the Region of Kakland of Maricoen), with it divided into four regions: Northern Kakland, Central Kakland, Southern Kakland, and Khaygavarland. The Gotos Islands were given to the Southern Kakland Region.

The Gotos Islands would be subject to raids by pirates during the Golden Age of Piracy, and a short famine, called the Great Gotosian Famine in between 1789-1806.

During the 19th Century, the Industrial Revolution took place in Kakland and the Gotos Islands. Gotos City once again became an important port city to Kakland and all of the Maricoen Empire. During the Thrismari Revolution, the Gotos Islands became an important base for the Maricoen Empire, military and economically. The same would be true for the Marco-Thoren Wars, which ended in 1889.

By the time of The Great War, the Gotos Islands were very important for economic purposes, especially since the Maricoen Empire was supplying the Alliance. During this time, the islands were the most wealthiest part of Kaklandia Regionoso se Maricoenkla (KRM), due to supplies being shipped in and out constantly. This wealth would last until the Kakish War for Independence.

After the Great War ended in November of 1911, the world was at peace with its self. But as the years went on, unrest would follow in the Era of Civil Wars. But before that, civil unrest and independence movements would happen, a prelude to the civil unrest of the world that would happen in a decade.

In June of 1921, a man by the name of Hejγ Histuos wanted independence for Khaygland. Hey stated towards the Maricoen monarchy that they (the Khaygs) received independence, or they would go to war with the empire. Of course, the empire didn't grant independence for Khaygland, so the insurgency began.

With Histuos's independence for Khaygland going on, other Kakish regions wanted independence as well. This independence movement started the Kakish War of Independence. This also included Tahjahrkistan, an exclave bordering Glakhakstania and Zanjact. The Northern Kakish Region, Central Kakish Region, and Tahjahrkistan untied into a loose alliance that would later become the United Regions of Kakland (URK). The Southern Kakish Region and Khaygland stayed lit of the alliance until 1928, a year after the war started.

Throughout the war, the regions fought long and hard for Kakish Independence.

The Gotos Islands (Kakish: Gohtohs Iskjands, Gotosian: Gohtohsa Eskandas), is an island set in the Alabaster Gulf and a territory of Kakland under the Gotos Islands SFAR.

The largest city is Gotos City, which is located on the largest island, Iskvha Iskjand, with having a (insert population here) as of 2020. It is the main port city of the Alabaster Gulf, and the main trading center.

History of the Gotos Islands

The islands were first inhabited by the Proto-Kaks (Thrismarin Germanics) around (some time here) BCE, a few thousand years after the settlement of Eastern Thrismari in (some time here) BCE. Over the millennia, civilization grew and flourished. But the Gotos Island people were far behind to their counterparts in mainland Kakland. The Gotosians made contact with merchants from the Kysxk Kingdom in 757 CE, and with it came many things, good and bad.

In 1386, the Gotosian Kingdom declared economic independence from the Kysxk Kingdom. The current king of the Kysxk Kingdom, Vekna Hasx, new the economical importance of the island region, so instead of granting independence, the king declared war upon the Gotosian Kingdom.

The war, called the Gotos-Kysxk War, would go on from January 15th, 1386 to August 13th, 1401 (25 years, six months, and five days). The winning victory was the Kysxk Kingdom, with the Gotos Islands becoming a dependency of the Kysxk Kingdom.

Tjo-Kios' rule would last until 1652, when the Kysxk Kingdom took back the Gotos Islands under the leadership of Qwerteinheimer the First.
