Nuranz, officially the The Republic of Nuranz, is a nation located split between the regions of Badawiya and Bahia. It is currently struggling to contain the spread of the terrorist group Al-Haras, which has been terrorizing the country in the War in Nuranz since 2001. Nuranz is deeply split by bitter ethnic divides between its Badawiyan minority and Bahian majority and between various Bahian groups (particularly the Suo people of the Saro Delta), but the conflict between Bahians and Badawiyans is exacerbated by a deep religious split between them as well. Since 2009, the country has seen extensive foreign involvement and large portions of the nation are home to active Federation military operations.

Nuranz was conquered by Caesena and ruled as a colony. Following the Negaran Emergency, it was given to Estmere.

Geography

Most of Nuranz lies along the coastal plain, within a few hundred miles of the southern shore of the :unnamed: Straits between it and :unnamed island:. Further inland, Nurani territory is centered around the Saro River, with mountainous areas as well. Nuranz also controls the Saro Delta.

Climate

Nuranz sees little rainfall and is by and large extremely arid. Throughout the year, the country sees high temperatures and in the summer, humidity often also becomes very high near the coast and the :river:. The Saro, however, allows for rich plant and animal life to flourish in its basin, and makes intensive agriculture possible in these areas of Nuranz.

Demographics

Nuranz is deeply divided between its Bahian majority and Badawiyan minority. Bahians constitute about three quarters (73.8%) of the population, while Badawiyans form a sizable minority of around a quarter of the population (25.2%). About 1% of Nurani citizens belong to other races. The Bahian segment of the population is also split among several ethnicities. Of the Bahian segment of the population, 20.2% belong to the Dari group, 17.5% to the Ginka people, 17.2% to the Xande people, 14.1% to the Suo people, 13.2% to the Nurle tribes, and 12.7% to the Muer people. The remainder are part of various other, smaller tribes and ethnic groups. The bitter divisions between these Bahian ethnicities are only overshadowed in severity by the rift between them and the country's Badawiyan population. The Suo people in particular, concentrated in the Saro Delta to the east of the capital and around the city of Chelroun, have poorer relations with many other Bahian groups due to religious differences, as well as linguistic, cultural, and ethnic differences.
