The Tito Tauro-class is the newest fleet carrier design of the United Etrurian navy. It replaced the older and smaller Aurelio Adriano class, which has served since the mid-70s. They are some of the largest and most powerful conventional-powered aircraft carriers in the world, utilising an innovative Integrated electric propulsion system, providing excellent cruise range and fuel economy while avoiding the high costs involved with the use of nuclear propulsion. Vessels of the class are projected to have service lives of up to 50 years and were engineered to be capable of integrating new upgrades in a straightforward fashion throughout the period. Displacing at more than 90,000 tonnes loaded, the Tito Tauro is a substantially larger vessel, capable of deploying between 38-50 fast jets. It carries four electro-magnetic catapults and four aircraft elevators.
The class is named after the legendary ancient Vespasian admiral, Titus Taurus.
