Revision as of 01:18, 10 April 2022
The 2022 Arabin presidential primaries are several elections held between March 12 and June 25 in 2022 for voters to select which candidates from the Democratic and Republican parties will be nominated as their respective parties presidential candidates in the 2022 Arabin presidential election.
Both parties use delegates which are awarded in each election based on the percentage of votes they receive. In order to win the nomination the candidate must receive more than half of the total delegates their party chooses for that election. In 2022, the Democratic and Republican parties set 480 and 551 delegates, respectively. A Democratic candidate must win 241 delegates to become the nominee of their party, while a Republican candidate must win 277 delegates to become the nominee of their party. If no candidate wins enough delegates to become the nominee, then candidates that have dropped out must award delegates they won to a candidate of their choosing that are still running. If still no candidate receives enough delegates to win the whichever candidate has the most delegates will win the nomination.
The Republican and Democratic Presidential Convention will be held on July 23 and August 6, 2022, respectively. The parties will officially nominate their candidate and their running mates on these dates.
