The 1990 Gran Telea Riots were a series of riots and civil disturbances that occured in parts of the Gran Telea-Fairbrook metropolitan area in July and August 1990. Unrest began in North Gran Telea after a jury acquitted 2 officers of the Gran Telea Police Department (GTPD) charged with using exsessive force (Police Brutality) in the arrest and beating of Ron Emondt. The incident was videotaped by witnesses and widely shared nationwide.
