Daily Procedure
The Senate usually sits for 3 out of 7 days a week for 1-2 month sessions which are named after and occuer every season (ex. Summer Session of the Imperial Senate). At the start of a sitting day, the Sergent-at-Arms and the Captains-at-Arms/Lictors carry the Imperial Senatorial Mace, the Standards, and the Fasces followed by the Imperial Chancellor and other Senatorial Officers. Then after the Speaker has taken his/her seat the session begains.
Passage of Motion
The Passage of Motions is started with the introduction of the motion. A Senator must petition the Chancellor to introduce a motion which then has to be seconded by another senator. Then the motion is introduced to the Senate with the motion Sponsor, proponent speakers, and opposing speakers as called on by the Chancellor. Usually, when calling on a Senator to speak the Chancellor says the Senators's name, Provincia, followed by "Rise and addresss the Senate". After this, the motion is put to vote by the Senators who vote with a recorded vote. Members can call for up to 3 re-votes in which after all 3 re-votes have been called, the 3rd vote is final. If a tie is reached the speaker has the casting vote. If passed the motion is put into effect.
Question Time
Under the constitution it is the right of Senators to question and hold accountable/scrutinize the government to uphold their preformance and hold them accountable. Question hours occur during the begening and end hours of the Senate sitting day (10 hrs) where any Senator may question the government. Questions must stay relevant and members and the Imperial Chancellor can raise a point of order. The Member of Government being questions is obliged to answer and stay relevent to the question.
