Sontonga also served as a [[Mambiza|senator for Sainte-Germaine]] between 1928 and 1934, where he was a prominent Bahian functionalist ideologue.

| Born into the Thabiso dynasty of Molisaland in 1888, Sontonga acceded to become Morena of Molisaland aged only 12 in 1900. He later studied both domestically at [[Mambiza|Queen Evelin College]] and abroad at the [[University of Verlois]], later returning to [[Baséland]] in the 1920s. In 1928, he was elected as a senator for the city of [[Sainte-Germaine]], supporting the ongoing [[Great War (Kylaris)|war effort]] and the national functionalist ideology. Sontonga avoided sentencing by the Estmerish occupational authorities after the war, who deemed him as irrelevant and allowed him to return to Molisaland. He was influential as part of a number of Garamburan academics who opposed the growing {{wp|racial segregation|segregationist}} [[Indigénisme]] movement.

| When Estmere granted independence to [[Rwizikuru]] in 1946, Baséland was incorporated into the country as [[East Riziland]], sparking major unrest. Sontonga proclaimed himself [[List of Gaullican Monarchs|Emperor of Gaullica]] on March 4, 1947 as Constantine IV (inspired by the last functionalist Gaullican emperor, [[Constantine III]]) in response. He declared independence and an immediate union between Molisaland and the [[Gaullica|Gaullican metropole]], and encouraged all culturally Gaullophone nations to support his claim. Witnesses of Sontonga's brief claim as Gaullican emperor regarded him as completely committed to the functionalist ideology, and he held a true belief that all Gaullophone nations would join him for the sake of the continued Gaullican national identity. In reality, Sontonga's claim was recognised by nobody, and he was deposed with the help of the Rwizikuran army by his cousin [[Garambura|Thabiso Tau Moeketsi]] on March 8. The Rwizikuran government tried him for {{wp|treason}} and he was executed on March 14.
