State Highway 105 (SH 105) is a highway that runs from Ibican Route 2 in Kingsland, outside of Rhone to LP 55 in Appleton, forming part of what has become a bypass around the Willmington area. From its terminus in Appleton, a business route continues through town to the loop on the other side of town, and the roadway continues as SH 116.
Route description
SH 105 begins at an intersection with IR-2, with a city maintained expressway running from there to Interstate 10. SH 105 runs east through the outskirts of Kingsland and a 6 land boulevard, gaining a wider median as the highway leaves the city limits. At an intersection with SH 15, the road becomes a four land divided highway, continuing east into Travis County. The highway begins a gradual curve to the southeast as it continues through the Rhone suburbs until reaching the city of Elkhart at an intersection with SH 6. From here, the scenery along the highway becomes increasingly rural, with the last Rhone-commuting subdivision Travis Bayou. Crossing into Calahan County, the roadway passes through the rolling hills and farmland of southwestern West Monroe, only interrupted by the city of Rockville, where the highway splits into a pair of one way roads through the historic downtown. When crossing into Shelby County, SH 105 the northern edge of Willmington's suburban sprawl. After entering the Collins city limits, the highway splits off from its old routing, which is now a business route that runs through downtown, and runs as a freeway around the northern part of town. Here SH 105 meets Interstate 25 in a stack interchange, then has a diamond interchange with SH 125. After leaving Collins, the highway merges back with its business route and resumes being a four lane divided highway, and continues southeast through Shelby. The highway passes through town as a six lane road with a center turn lane, where it meets SH 54 and crosses the Cooper River. From here, SH 105 continues in a more southerly direction as a six lane divided highway towards its terminus with Loop 55. From here, a business route continues into downtown Appleton.
