Prince Adolfus of Staalmark was the reigning Prince of Staalmark from 1995 until his death in 2022, whereupon he was succeeded by his son, Godwyn, Prince of Staalmark. During the final seven months of his reign as Prince, Adolfus was imprisoned in the Federation of Ottonian Republics following the South Ottonian Revolution and his foiled escape attempt to Draakur resulting in his arrest on a variety of charges. He died of complications from pneumonia on November 16th, 2022, a day shy of his 76th birthday.

During his time in the public eye, Adolfus was notable for his lavish lifestyle, as well as his womanizing and philandering ways: he was married to four different women, fathering 21 legitimate children, and he is believed to have fathered a significant number of children out of wedlock with an assortment of women. There were allegations regarding the circumstances of many of his encounters that contributed to his being arrested in May 2022, although he died before his trial could be completed.
