Citru (Japanese: 見る, lit. to see) is an Oriental mixed reality, online super-app developed and published by Panon, a subsidiary of Neon Corporation. On this multi-user mixed reality platform, players move and interact with each other in an enhanced augmented reality world where interactive UI are added in real-time to provide more information and ease real world interaction. User must have an Android-based or iOS-based smartphone to use this app.
History
Early Development
It was initially developed as an augmented-reality mobile app named Citru by Panon in 2030. The app was aimed for students to help them identify plants, animals and translate foreign languages instantly.
Acquisition
The Panon company, including its Citru app was acquired by Neon Corporation in 2034. After the acquisition, it was redeveloped into a mixed reality super-app that includes instant messaging, shopping, and video streaming.
Latest Release
After Orientia's independence in 2043, Panon added new features to help awakeneds interact with other awakened humans as well. The features added the capability to see other awakened's informations (including their Qi and class), as well as match-making for spar events in a form of a game. Currently, there are few plans to integrate Fite, an Amenrian mobile application that has the same feature.
Operation
Users create a profile using their phone number, where they'd be instructed to fill their information, mostly regarding their address and preferred payment network. For users intend to use the system for learning, they're required to fill their school's name and student ID, which, gives them access to "Mikan", a learning feature that encompasses A.I. detection for formulas, plants, animals, as well as unlimited access to digital library.
After setting up a profile, they can use the whole features of the app by interacting with floating UI in front of them. For shopping, they can open the shop feature "Kanpai" that is similar to e-commerce applications, but with abilities to place or interact with the desired item in real-time. Users can also check their bank statement if they wish to connect their bank account with the application. Messaging features are also available by using the integrated LIME messenger feature that allow users to chat and call each other.
A more comprehensive personal information and match-making system are available for users registered as awakened humans where they can check their own physiology and other awakened's informations such as name, gender, species, reputation, class and guild affiliation. Awakeneds can gain their reputation by finishing daily, weekly challenges provided by the National Awakened Association.
Companies can also put ads inside the system, by placing them on the streets, empty billboards or on top of buildings (usually require companies to pay fees to the the building owner). Citru is globally available, and uses a blockchain-network for cross-platform interoperability and security.
