The Monarchy of Valvexia is the oldest continuous monarchial system in all of Terreren. As of today, there have been a total of 46 monarchs to sit on the Valvexian throne, with Andreus II and Henrie I being the only two to have multiple reigns. Accounting for these multiple reigns, there has been 49 individual reigns, the most recent of which is the reign of Charel V beginning in 2016.

Terminology
"King of all Valvexia" vs "King of Valvexia"
Upon his election at the First Council of Ahgorae, Alfredo I was originally given the title "Great Protector" by the other high chiefs. During this time period, the term "Protector" was more associated with military and warfare rather than a political term, with the position of Protector being more closely related to a war chief or a general. The other high chiefs deliberately gave the title of Great Protector to Alfredo as a sign of respect and recognize him as a military leader and not as someone who has political authority over them and their tribes. Alfredo soon recognized the issue the title presented, and by 954 coins bearing his image had a new title: REIUS VALVEXA TOTALAE or "King of All Valvexia". This new title, which he used alongside and sometimes interchangeably with "Great Protector", denoted his rule as sovereign over all Valvexian tribes; a statement which created tension with the various major tribes. The Jodynen monarchs would continue to use the title to denote their position of authority during the Age of the Kingdoms, even though the monarchs of the Kingdom of Pharagon claimed the title during this time as well.
The title of "King of All Valvexia" would be used throughout the Reglasi and Jodynen periods until the conquest of the other independent kingdoms by Anton I. With the fall of the other kingdoms, along with the increasing centralization and consolidation of power under his rule, Anton I began to style himself as "King of Valvexia", with the new title appearing on coins and documents around 1255.
