Military career

Señor Tenente Julie Santizo during operational exercises with the 1/3 Battalion, 2nd Alpino Brigade

Santizo entered the Imperial Army of Temuair at the age of 21 after completing her degree in business administration at Mileth Central University. While in college she participated in the Imperial Army Officers Preparatory Program (IAOPP) and, upon graduation, was commissioned as a Tenente and assigned to 2nd platoon, 2/11 Battalion, 11th Imperial Dragón Brigade. During her 12-week OCS course, she qualified as an expert marksmen with both handgun and service rifle.

She volunteered for and was accepted to train with the Alpinoes, the Imperial Army's elite mountain and arctic warfare unit, and following completion of training and promotion to Señor Tenente, she was given a slot as the leader of the company weapons section, 2nd company, 1/3 Battalion, 3rd Alpino Brigade. Upon promotion to Capitán in 1994, she attended the Imperial Army's Staff Warfare College, and returned to command the third company of the 3/2 Alpino Para-Rifle Battalion, 2nd Alpino Brigade, at which time she attended the Imperial Army's Airborne Warfare school. Following this promotion, Santizo's career plateaued as, even though the majority of her service performance evaluations listed her as promotable. She reportedly stated that a company command was what she desired, and had no desire to climb in rank.

The 1997 Sable Conflict lead to a field promotion to the rank of Tenente Coronel following events which left her in command of the 3/3 Alpino Para-Rifle Battalion during the Battle of Sable, in which three parachute battalions of the Alpinoes conducted an parachute assault behind enemy positions in the Vi Castis Mountains under Coronel Nataniel Godoy as part of Grupobatalla Godoy with the intention of retaking the town of Sable lost during the Third Peninsular War. This promotion was not upheld by the Imperial Army following the end of the war due to her not having been in the service for the required sixteen years to be eligible for promotion to 0-5, however, the Imperial Army did authorize a promotion to Comandante. She was, however, awarded a Battalion Leadership Award for her efforts in commanding the battalion during the battle.

Following the end of the war, she was assigned headquarters company of the 1st Battalion, 6th Terrican Rifle Brigade for staff training, and was slotted as the battalions P3, or the Plans and Operations officer. During her time with the 6th Terrican Rifle Brigade, she was captured by Terrican rebels while conducting operations in the Terrican countryside. She was held for 12 days before being rescued by members of the 5th Independent Cazador Battalion. She was offered an early separation by her commanding officer, as she had more than completed her original service obligations which qualified her for citizenship, and was very close to completing her extended service requirement. Santizo declined this, stating she would finish the term. She completed her term on active duty and separated from the Imperial Army in 2004.

Political Career

In mid-2007, Burgess Nataniel Godoy approached Santizo and asked her to consider serving as his Vice Burgess if he won the 2008 Burgess Electoral Race for the Mileth Division. Godoy had been her commanding officer during her time with the 3/3 Battalion, 2nd Alpino Brigade, and was the officer who initiated her brevet to Tenente Coronel during the 1997 Sable Conflict. She agreed to serve if he won. Godoy's victory was confirmed on February 10, 2008, and both he and Santizo assumed office April 1, 2008. Both were reelected in 2012.

Godoy advised Santizo he would not be seeking reelection in 2016 and urged her to run in his place. She agreed, and was elected as the Burgess of Mileth in the 2016 Burgess Electoral Race. She choose Eligio Canton as her Vice Burgess.

In 2018, following the assassination of Vitor Lista, she was appointed to the office of Head Burgess by Vitor Avila. Her duties as Burgess of Mileth, and her seat in the Camber of Burgesses was assumed by Vice Burgess Eligio Canton
