The Angrast Accord is a cultural and economic alliance of three Eastern and Central Belisarian nations - Drevstran, Lusittia, and Seredinia - with the stated goal of promoting cultural, economic, and political cooperation with one another. The organization encourages free trade agreements and the reduction in visa restrictions as well as the creation of guest worker programs in the member states.
The Accord can trace its origins to the proposal of Lusittian Prime Minister Lucas Albertinni in June of 1991. Albertinni posited an economic and customs union between Seredinia, Drevstran, and Lusittia as "beneficial for the futures of all East [and Central] Belisaria." While initially the proposal was met with skepticism by Seredinian Premier Gavril Ivanovich Apraxin and his Drevstran counterpart, after the recession of the 1990s saw economic growth stagnate across the region, Apraxin reopened the subject.
Apraxin and his successor Clément Ouvrier led the charge which would see the signature of the Castelonovo Pact in May of 1998. The Pact mandated the creation and promotion of the Angrast Accord, named for the capital city of Drevstran where several negotiation sessions took place. It set a deadline of two years for implementation of numerous clauses; as such, the Accord would come into effect at midnight on 31 December 1999, five months ahead of the deadline.
