Bungussi is a country in eastern Astyria, in northern Hesperidesia. The majority of its landmass lies south of the equator. From west to east, its land borders are with the Blackhelm Confederacy, Kwalawi and Jafala. It has coastlines on the Mare Ferum and Sinus Tritonus. With a population of 47,310,516, it is the fourth most-populous country in Hesperidesia, and at 3,335,400 square kilometres (1,287,800 sq mi) it is the third largest country on the continent.

Bungussi's defence is provided for by the Bungussan Military, which consists of four branches: the Army, Marines, Navy and Air Force. Together these consist of roughly 140,000 personnel.
