Text

Article 1: Citizenship

  • §1 The following groups shall be granted citizenship:
    • §1a All persons residing in Katranjiev on or prior to December 12th, 1884
    • §1b Their descendants, provided that the descendant has:
      • i) a citizen mother and citizen father
      • ii) a citizen father and a permanent resident mother
      • iii) a citizen mother and a permanent resident father
      • iv) a citizen father and a refugee mother
      • v) a citizen mother and a refugee father
      • vi) a citizen father and an alien mother
      • vii) a citizen mother and an alien father
    • §1c A naturalized permanent resident, who meets all of the following criteria, and has passed a citizenship test:
      • i) be married for five (5) years to a Katranjian citizen
      • ii) reside in Katranjiev for seven (7) years as a permanent resident
      • iii) be of sound mind and of good moral character
      • iv) be fluent in two of the three national languages
      • v) understand each section of the Katranjian constitution
      • vi) have a basic understanding of Katranjian laws and ducal laws, and of Katranjian governance
    • §1d Any person who will become stateless as a consequence of not having citizenship
    • §1e A person adopted from a foreign country on or after May 2, 1965
  • §2 Persons born outside the Kingdom of Katranjiev may be eligible to receive citizenship of Katranjiev, provided that:
    • §2a At least one of their parents or grandparents was born in the Kingdom of Katranjiev
    • §2b At least one of their parents was serving abroad as part of the Royal Katranjian Armed Forces or in the diplomatic service, regardless of whether they themselves were born in Katranjiev, or had a Katranjian grandparent
  • §3 Citizens may exercise all the rights granted to them under the Constitution

Article 2: Permanent Residency

  • §1 All persons wishing to obtain permanent residency status must:
    • §1a be of sound mind and of good moral character
    • §1b demonstrate knowledge of at least one of the three official languages
    • §1c understand the laws in Katranjiev
    • §1d not be charged with a crime
  • §2 Should these conditions be met, the potential applicant may apply to the Ministry of Immigration to request permanent residency
    • §2a The Ministry of Immigration has the right to either grant conditional permanent residency or unconditional permanent residency
      • i) Conditional status shall last for two (2) years, before it has to be renewed, becomes unconditional, or denied
