Tauma (Tamisari: టౌమా Ṭaumā), often referred to as Ko Tauma (Tamisari: కో టౌమా Kō Ṭaumā, 'King Tauma') was a city-state in Satria. It was notable for its longevity, from its beginnings in 551 BCE during the Mahakusumita period to its end in 976 CE during the High Sangma dynasty, and for its republican government. During the Middle Sangma period, its control expanded from a small area around its city's borders to a short-lived hegemony over much of Satria, after which it would recede to western Satria. It would heavily decline in the 9th century, losing much of its territory and influence to the Pakala, Molaka, and Varajji kingdoms, as well as the encroaching High Sangma, which annexed it in 976 CE.

Shakya being triumvirate elected every three years, wide-sweeping powers but heavily limited by the various sanghas, trial after their terms (limited to one term per life), which becomes ceremonial during later Tauma. Stuff about very arrogant diplomats who would carry soil from the city, stand on it when meeting to claim exclusion from hosting nation's laws.-

-Tauma history. Largely follows Pax Tauma when it was a small city-state largely minding its own business, paying tribute, fighting occasional war. Bellum Tauma when it dramatically expanded thanks to Middle Sangma dynasty causing chaos in Satria, a period of constant warfare, it is eventually pushed out of eastern Satria but solidifies hold on most of western Satria. Borders between it and Middle Sangma very fluid, tribute states sometimes paying both. Position of Arudharaja disputed between Middle Sangma dynastic kings, and the Tauma who claim the position for their city. Labes Tauma is the period of its heavy decline. Perhaps natural causes depopulate the city or central area, from which it levies most of its troops for garrisons, plus perhaps economic crisis diminishes its merchants and overseas adventurers, slowly causing the city to lose control to local dynastic clans before it is annexed by the Sangma.-
