The Alderman of Weskerby is the directly elected chief representative of the city of Weskerby. Andrea Redgard of the Social Democrats has been the incumbent Alderman since July 2019, following her victory over the Conservative Union politician and incumbent Alderman Derrick Holt.
Role
The role of the Alderman is to lead the council administration of Weskerby, serve as an ambassador of the public of Weskerby, and to arbitrate with the central government over funding and infrastructure. Weskerby's Aldermanry also is merged with the position of police and crime commissioner, thus the Alderman has responsibility over the Metropolitan Constabulary of Weskerby, the largest policing force in Esthursia.
