The 2014 Esthursian general election was held on 6 April, 2014, as per the Overlaw term limits. The election resulted in a continued Social Democratic-led government in the House of Thanes, however the Social Democrats failed to win another majority as they had in 2011. The Conservative Union also became the largest party in the Thanes; despite this, due to the successful coalition negotiations by incumbent Forethane John Largan with other left-leaning parties, they did not form the government.
