The Royal Gristo-Serkonan Navy (Nordic: Sjøforsvarsstyrker lit. 'Naval Defence Forces') (Kanienʼkéha: Atëhna’o’ké:dza:ö’djodi'kwado lit. 'Those who brave the Horned Serpent') is the naval force of Gristol-Serkonos. The RGSN is one of three environmental commands within the Royal Gristo-Serkonan Armed Forces. As of 2020, the RGSN operates 82 surface and submarines. The Navy consists of 35,677 personnel, with civilian staff reaching 3,800. Fleet Admiral Johan Amundsen is the current commander of the Royal Gristo-Serkonan Navy as well as the Chief of the Naval Staff.

Founded in 1867, the Royal Gristo-Serkonan Navy was formed with the amalgamation of the Kingdom of Gristol's Sjøforsvaret units and the League of Serkonos' Riverine and Coastal Defence units. During the reorganization of the Armed Forces in 1993, the branch was designated as the Maritime Force Command until 2019 when it reverted to the pre-1993 title of the Royal Gristo-Serkonan Navy.

Organization

The RGSN is headquartered at ONS-Raven Campus in Pontiac-Bernadotte, Gristol-Serkonos. The Navy has four sub-branches with various responsibilities.

Maritime Forces

Comprised primarily of the Navy's combat and amphibious warfare vessels, the Maritime Forces divides its vessels into two fleets. Maritime Forces North (MARNOR) is based at RGSFB Griswald and is responsible for the coastal areas and economic exclusive zones north of the city of Lenangen in the Crown Land of Drachten. Maritime Forces North is also responsible for the guarding of the coast line of Lake Bastard. Maritime Forces South (MARSOR) is based in RGSFB Guigneville responsible for the coastal areas and economic exclusive zones south of the city of Lenangen.
