The Amstelvoort-Harlingen metropolitan area is the largest metropolitan area in terms of both area and population in the country, with a population of 10.5 million encompassing Amstelvoort, Riverton, Hengelaar, Harlingen, and Pendleton counties. As of 2020, the overall population growth stood at 8.24%, with much of that growth coming from the growing amount of residents of Gran Telea, Greenbridge, and Arklip moving to the area.
