James Harrison Johnson was born in 1825 in the city of {{wpl|Manchester}} in the United Kingdom to parents Jackson and Juliana Johnson. At the age of 5 his family moved to the British Territory of the Ilumeic Archepelago, then still entirely controlled by the United Kingdom. When he matured into a functioning adult he quickly became interested in the territory of Ilumeic becoming its own country and by the 17th of September 1864, this dream was achieved where Johnson was a major contributer to the discussion with the British on the independence of Tomikals. After the nation gained independence it held its first election in the same year, Johnson beat out the competitor [[Allan Leierman]] handidly becoming the first Prime Minister of the new country. He served two terms in the position before losing the 1872 election to the leader of the [[Historic Party of Tomikals]], his old rival [[Allan Leierman|Leierman]]. After losing the election, he remained as a Conservative Member of the Tomikalian Parliament, only losing his seat in 1900, when the party decided he was getting too old to remain an MP.
