Cities (Yoganian/Kjerso: Orden) (French: Ville) are a level of administrative division in Yogania. Cities are ranked in the same way as towns or villages. Like all other administrative division units, they are defined by the Yoganian Country Divisions Law of 1946.
Overview
City Status
To be considered a city, municipalities must follow the criteria set by Article 15 of the Yoganian Divisions Law:
- Population must be at least 100,000.
- At least 55% of inhabitants must live and work in the city.
- At least 40% of households must be employed in a city-related occupation.
- The city must have at least one police station, one fire station and one hospital or clinic.
State Capitals
The 22 Yoganian states each have a capital city, usually the largest in the state, which is why most of the largest cities in Yogania are state capitals. The largest state capital is Yocopo, which is also the national capital and largest city in the country. The least populated state capital is Kobdo, capital of the island state of Bugareyol. The most populated non-capital city is Salgon, located in Bugan.
