The Karlsson government is the TBD government of the Commonwealth of Eulabia, formed on 19 November 2021 and headed by Mekhar A. Karlsson as Prime Minister unde the presidency of Oswald Mosley. The government was formed following 2021 government crisis and fall of the Hartmann government.
Overview
Formation
The government was established following the 2021 government crisis that started after arrest of the Finance Secretary TBD for corruption. Prime Minister Joshua Hartmann submitted his resignation to President Mosley on 10 November 2021, taking collective responsibility for his administration's actions. Mosley appointed Mekhar A. Karlsson, a business magnate with reputation as eccentric and reckless leader, on 15 November. Karlsson was tasked with forming a government aimed at overhauling and innovate the rigid ministry system. All ministers were sacked with exception of Ángel Fox, Martin Müller, and Joshua Hartmann, who returned as Justice Secretary. Karlsson's government was appointed on 19 November 2021.
"Eulabia of To-morrow"
Karlsson launched the "Eulabia of To-morrow" initiative, introducing a government predominantly composed of young, ambitious politicians and technocrats. He streamlined the government structure by reducing the number of cabinet ministers from 20 to 10 through the consolidation of several ministries into "superministries." Karlsson's governance style, which closely mirrors corporate management practices, has been a frequent subject of criticism. Addressing these criticisms, Karlsson has responded, "Those who say I run my government as a company surely have never run one themselves." His blunt approach to political discourse is also evident in his responses to questions about his government's realignment, "I’m not a politician so don't bother me with this political nonsense. My task is to run this country, not to fuss about whether my policies are left, right, or upside down."
