The Red Triangle Caucus is currently the leading faction in the Matriarchy of These United Valleys, and holds a supermajority in both legislative houses, with all elected representatives in each caucusing with the Red Triangle Caucus. The group was founded as an armed cell of the now defunct Downwind Social Democratic Alliance, and ultimately rose to victory in the 2026 Free Lands Revolution.
The party's ideology is considered left-wing or far-left, and is limited to 100,000 members as per the 2027 Constitution. The party's closest domestic allies are the Eagle Caucus and Hammer Caucus, which split from the original Red Triangle Party as mandated by the aforementioned new Constitution.
Policy Overview
The Red Triangle Caucus promises an expedient and meaningful ascension to the world stage, preaching that international respect is only given to "large nations with large ideas," as per Matriarch Jeanne Freeman. The main policy focus of the caucus is modernization via infrastructure, with massive rail projects underway, some nearing completion. Another policy flagship is that of privacy, particularly personal privacy and the security of independent news media, a position which has led the young country to being a haven for dissidents and whistleblowers. The caucus instituted and believes in socialist methods of production, shepherding the country's new economic system into existence during 10 months of martial law, the final two being the result of a coup attempt by former allies the International Industrial Union, another socialist faction.
Controversy
The caucus is explicitly dominated by women, and has an enforced 4:1 ratio of women over men, with space given for genderless members and possible roll sorting issues. The original faction was formed under the von Patton regime and was entirely women, as dissident men were more likely to be assassinated or killed during the civil conflict. As the revolution began to come to a close, more men were allowed onto the roll, and it currently boasts that 14% of its membership are men. The caucus ensures it will eventually have a 1:1 ratio, but for now it operates legally as a women's org. The Red Triangle Caucus is also currently dominated by pre-revolutionary media figures and celebrities, with a strong base of support amongst current and former criminal gang members. The lack of political experience in the Red Triangle Caucus has led to international questions of competency, although the caucus typically claims that the international community simply fears women, the youth, and anti-elite movements.
