The 1963 East Besmenian presidential election took place on 28 April 1963 and on 12 May 1963 in East Besmenia.
The incumbent president, Wilhelm Ganswindt, was not eligible for reelection. It was the last presidential election before the Besmenian reunification in September 1967.
Electoral system
The President of Besmenia is directly elected by the population once every six years. The election is held under a two-round system; if no candidate receives more than 50% of votes cast in the first round, then a second ballot occurs in which only those two candidates who received the greatest number of votes in the first round may stand.
