The Department of Civilian Defense (DCD) is the internal security force the Midwest Union circa January 1980, and a part of the Midwest Armed Forces. Functioning as law enforcement and counter-terrorist divisions alike.

The Paranormal Division can be linked to the spike of paranormal and cryptid reports after the Dissolution of the United States. The PD generally shares information with the United American Commonwealth's National Bureau of Anomaly Security, albeit, the Midwest focuses on neutralization of threats instead of research.
