Kaiyang
Kaiyang (Qi Script: 開揚; Alphabetized Huajiangite: Kāiyáng; Guavai: haaiyañh) alternatively called Haiyan and historically called Jiuyuan (九淵; Jiǔyuān) is one of the largest cities within Huajiang and the largest city within Huajiang that speaks Guavai, with a population of 5,724,926 people within the metropolitan area. It is seen as the gate between Western Huajiang and Eastern Huajiang, as the cultural divide between Contemporary Huajiang Culture and Traditionalist Huajiang Culture. Kaiyang is also seen as an important cultural location, as Kaiyang was formerly the capital of the He Dynasty during the Second Fractured Era, and afterward swapped hands several times during the Siege of Kaiyang.
Kaiyang was initially founded as a farming village, which grew in size after the production in the area increased. The first mention of Kaiyang was under the name Jiuyuan (
