The Blood Cross is a military award given to members of the Lumenic Legion who have been wounded or perished in battle while serving with the Lumenic Legion.

History

Awarding and eligibility

The Blood Cross is awarded in the name of the Sovereign of Luminerra to any member of the Lumenic Legion, while serving under competent authority who has been wounded or killed. The recipient must have suffered wounds or been killed while engaged in military operations involving conflict with an opposing force, or while serving with an allied force fighting an opponent that is not a declared enemy of Luminerra, or as a result of an act of any hostile foreign or domestic force. The Blood Cross is not awarded for non-combat injuries under any circumstances. The Blood Cross differs from most other decorations awarded by the Lumenic Legion in that an individual is not "recommended" for the decoration; rather he or she is entitled to it upon meeting specific criteria.

For the purpose of determining eligibility for receiving the Blood Cross, the Lumenic Legion defines a "wound" as an injury to any part of the body from an outside force or agent sustained under one or more of the conditions listed above, and that the wound for which the award is made must have required treatment by a medical officer and records of medical treatment for wounds or injuries received in action must have been made a matter of official record. In addition, The fact that the recipient was participating in direct or indirect combat operations is a necessary prerequisite, but is not sole justification for award.

Authorized devices

A Blood Cross is awarded for the first wound suffered under conditions indicated above, and can be award more than once to the same recipient. If an individual receives more than one Blood Cross then the ribbon would display a Rosetón device. Multiple Blood Cross awards will not be given for injuries sustained in the same incident.
