Vulksaron Heavy Industries is an Ottonian multinational corporation. The company is a major employer within the Federation, and is diversified into a number of industries. Its products are sold throughout Ajax, particularly on the continent of Belisaria, and it serves as a primary defense contractor to the Ottonian Federal Government. Because of the size and wealth of the company, its owners and executives have long held substantial political clout within the Federation.
History
The origins of VHI lay in the purchase by Andersburg-born Magda Aronvulk, the daughter of a blacksmith and a weaver, of a blast furnace facility. When the Bessemer Process was patented in the Federation by Huron Bessmyr, Aronvulk was among the first in Ottonia to take out a license and open a steel mill making use of the process; she was able to quickly expand with financial help from the Staalmarker House Riktun-Sproek, purchasing other up-and-coming steel mills around the Anders River Valley, particularly centered on Rikardsburg.
In 1854, Aronvulk formally consolidated the four steel mills and other foundries under her ownership into a unified management company, the Vulksaron Company.

Current Operations
In the present day, VHI is the single-largest private employer within the Federation of Allamunnic States. It currently serves as one of the largest defense contractors for the Ottonian Federal Defense Service. The company is publicly-traded, but control is maintained by the Aronvulk family, who maintain 45% ownership stock. Other noteworthy owners include the Staalmarker House of Riktun-Sproek, which owns approximately 15% of the company.
