Music

Music in Nukkumaa has reflected the highly diverse and multi-cultural populace that has driven cultural development in the nation as a whole. Indigenous, Rajan, New Tyran, Themiclesian, and Columbian influences have been the greatest influences on the music of Nukkumaa. The influence of Nukkumaa on rock music has been profound and important, especially in the psychedelic and experimental scenes.
Patriotic music in Nukkumaa dates back a few centuries, far before any real action was taken to gain independence. During the period of colonial rule, the groups advocating for greater autonomy strove to one day attain independence, and this despair is reflected in patriotic music of the colonial era. The national anthem of Nukkumaa, Veljet, Kuulemme Puhelumme, adopted in 1964, was written in 1811 by the famous Nukko writer and traveller Oskari Kinnunen for a festival celebrating newly gained autonomy from Raja.
