Martuf ag Lamine (Tamashek: ⵎⴰⵔⵜⵓⴼ ⴰⴶ ⵍⴰⵎⵉⵏⵦ; born December 7, 1954) is the Amenukal of Charnea, head of state and commander in chief of the Inter-Charnean Army. He is the son of infamous Syndicate leader and criminal mastermind Lamine ag Sahra and a south Charnean prostitute named Tanermat ult Chikat, and is the elder half-brother to his current Executrix Kubra ult Lamine. Martuf served in the Divine Army of the Ninety-Nine Nations of Mutul for 17 years before deserting to return to Charnea and serve in the Inter-Charnean Army, where he was selected for the Ranger Corps and rose to the rank of Colonel. He is well known for his battles during the Ninvite War in which he served as an ICA Ranger and later as a commanding officer of the pro-Charnean guerilla organization known as the Charnean Liberation Army, which he was leading while he planned and orchestrated Operation Cobalt Sky in Fahrani occupied eastern Charnea. This has led to Martuf being widely accredited with ending the Ninvite War and the occupation of eastern Charnea, earning him the status of a war hero and popular figure in Charnea. His reputation is colored by his participation in the 2000 Charnean coup d'etat which directly led to the overthrow of the previous government of Charnea and his own ascension to the throne of the country which he has ruled in relative peace since that time.
