Tauma (Tamisari: టౌమా Ṭaumā), often referred to as Ko Tauma (Tamisari: కో టౌమా Kō Ṭaumā, 'King Tauma') was a city-state in Satria. It was notable for its longevity, from its beginnings in 551 BCE during the Mahakusumita period to its end in 976 CE during the High Sangma dynasty, and for its republican government. During the Middle Sangma period, its control expanded from a small area around its city's borders to a short-lived hegemony over much of Satria, after which it would recede to western Satria. It would heavily decline in the 9th century, losing much of its territory and influence to the Pakala, Molaka, and Varajji kingdoms, as well as the encroaching High Sangma, which annexed it in 976 CE.
