The Alyssanian era (Illusian: Alyssaliche Epoche) is the current royal period of the Illuverendian royal history, coinciding on the rise of Alyssa, Crown Princess of Alcott-Midford as the Queen of Illuverendia on 7 September 2047. The era is also known as the Second Golden Age, Second Enlightenment, Royal Renaissance, and the Era de Rapprochement du Midford.

The Alyssanian era began on 7 September 2047, on Alyssa's 18th birthday and her declaration to be the incumbent monarch of the country. During that time, Illusia and Neverendia was subject to a transitory government led by the remnants of the Stratocratic Clique, which had led the country on the passing of Alyssa's mother, Mary, who had been the supreme commander of the Illuverendian stratocracy. As promised by the transitory government, the nation would revert into a monarchy by the time Alyssa reached 18.

Upon her ascension, the populace warmly welcomed her rule and heavily expected extensive changes. Alyssa, being a staunch supporter of the Enlightenment ideology, and having read of the achievements by her great-great predecessor, Franziska Dorothy the Great, heavily styled her governance after them. In the first five years of the Alyssanian era, costly yet grand reformations spearheaded by the Herrscherrat and Alyssa herself thrusted the country into a second golden age, something that Franziska had accomplished nearly one-and-a-half centuries ago. By bringing back civil rights and extensively giving the populace a large leeway on their own personal freedoms while controlling the government, Alyssa's reign was attributed to be a "second Enlightenment age".
