The Konungsvörður (Licanan: Royal Guard) is the standing military force of Eilínótt. It consists of the Konunglegur jarðher, or Royal Ground Forces, the Konunglegur flugher, or Royal Air Corps, and the Konunglegt flot, or Royal Flotilla.. The Konungur of Eilínótt is the commander-in-chief of the Royal Guard and forms military policy with the Ministry of Defense. The Konungsvörður is tasked with guaranteeing the sovereignty and independence of the nation, defending its territorial integrity and the constitutional order of the nation as defined by 1802 Declaration of Freedoms and Rights
The Konungsvörður is one of the oldest military formations in the world, tracing its active service back to well before the establishment of the Kingdom of Eilínótt. The Konungsvörður was established in 1021, shortly after the recognition of Eilínótt as a constituent member of the Trinovantan Empire for the purpose of protecting the nobility residing on the island, as well as the territorial integrity of the island itself. Throughout the centuries, the importance of the Royal Guard's territorial defense duties waned, seeing a slight resurgence when the nation gained independence in 1804, but ultimately rendering the force nearly ceremonial in nature.
The Konungsvörður was stood down following the invasion of Eilínótt by Ostlichtor in 1975, with most of its surviving members interned during the seven year occupation that followed. Following the withdrawal of Ostlander forces in 1982, the Konungsvörður was reformed, and its territorial defense duties became core tenets of its strategy and doctrine. Over the last several decades, the Kingdom of Eilínótt has made great strides in training and procurement of equipment, as well as establishing a military industrial base with which to defend itself from further foreign aggression. In addition, some elements of Eilínótt's Royal Guard have been deployed to assist in international peacekeeping efforts, mostly notably on the Omandan continent following the end of the Omandan Continental War and subsequent breakup of the former Order of Soviet Socialist Republics.
All members of the Eilínótti population are required to serve not less than one year in the armed forces before being discharged and becoming members of the Næturvakt until the age of 65. Citizens general serve following their 18th birthday and completion of secondary education, and prior to continuing education, though deferments can be obtained for those who either wish to obtain college degrees prior to military service, or who wish to serve as officers in the Konungsvörður.

Designation system
Purpose | Model number | Suffix | Special purpose or descriptor |

|
Generally the model number will be the next number in sequence for the type of weapon. As an example, the McLear 9190 was the fourth pistol ever adopted by the Konungsvörður, receiving the designation Sb.04 | The suffix is to denote any changes made to the initial design, suffixes are
followed by a numeral representing how many improvements or modifications have been made to a weapon. As an example, Maschinenpistole 63's captured from the Ostlanders were redesignated as Vb.02, and then rechambered for 9x19 mm, thus receiving the current designation of Vb.02B1. |
This is used to denote a special purpose or feature of a given weapon. As an example, the subcompact version of the McLear 9190, the McLear 9192 is designated the Sb.04U, or undirþjappa. |
