The government of Valtriva presides within the franework of a Unitary Parliamentary Republic. The President of Valtriva acts as the country's head of state while the Premier acts as the country's head of government. Legislative power lies with the State Assembly of the Republic of Valtriva which is a Unicameral legislature made up of [] members. Members of the assembly are elected every five years through universal sufferage and proportional representation. Therevare currently six political parties represented in the Assembly. All political parties represented in the State Assembly have wildly different views on the political issues put forward in the Assembly. The cornerstone of the political system of Valtriva is the Constitution of the Valtrivan Republic which was written and codified into law when Valtriva became an independent state in 1922 after the Valtrivan war of independence from Valimia.
