Overview
The AVEV-2004 is a helium-filled hybrid airship. The aircrafts shape allows it to generate lift from aerodynamic forces, in addition to the buoyancy provided by its lifting gas.
The AVEV-2004 can stay in flight for a maximum of seven days and has a range of 9,750 km (6,050 mi).
The crew compartment of the AVEV-2004 is capable of detaching from the envelope, allowing it to serve as a escape crew capsule.
Propulsion is provided by four electric ducted propellers powered by four diesel generators.
Avionics
The primary surveillance system of the AVEV-2004 is a large radome equipped with a rotating passive electronically scanned array radar system. It is also equipped with a secondary surveillance radar system to track vehicles operating with a radar transponder.
Additional surveillance equipment includes six multispectral cameras capable of observation in visible light and infrared. Various meteorological sensors are also equipped.
