The Kaori Kawashima government was the fifth federal government of Gylias. It was headed by Prime Minister Kaori Kawashima, and comprised one cabinet between 2008 and 2012.

It was a reconstruction of the traditional Liberal UnionProgressive AllianceIndependent Regional Alliance for Minorities coalition, which last formally existed under the Darnan Cyras government, and brought an end to the "liquid Parliament" era.

The government continued the moderate, technocratic reformist approach of its predecessor. Kaori's personal popularity could not counteract the public perception that the government had been in office too long and lacked ideas, and thus she announced she would not run for reelection in 2012.
