The 2022 Republican Party presidential primaries are a series of elections held in the 16 states of Arabi to determine which Republican candidate in the 2022 Arabin presidential election will become the nominee of their party. The primaries are currently ongoing, having started on March 12, 2022 and is scheduled to end on June 25, 2022. Lucien Orton is the presumptive nominee due to all other candidates dropping out.
The Arabin Election Counsel allotted 551 delegates to the Republican presidential primary election. In order to secure the Republican nomination a candidate must receive 276 delegates of the 551 total delegates. Both parties have regulations on how delegates are awarded to each candidates. If no candidate reaches half of the total delegates then the candidate with the most delegates will win the nomination.
Delegates are awarded to each candidate based on the percentage of votes they receive in the election.
Lucien Orton won the 2022 Republican Party presidential primaries. Orton is expected to officially receive and accept the nomination at the Republican Presidential Convention on July 23.
